1 c. corn meal
1 c. flour
2 heaping tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 heaping tbsp. sugar
2 eggs
Grated onion to taste (optional)
Milk

Mix and add enough milk to make batter thick. Drop by teaspoonfuls into deep fat. Cook until golden brown.
