GLAZED CARROTS 'N APPLES 
4 to 5 med. carrots, sliced
1 apple, peeled, cored and chopped
2 tbsp. packed brown sugar
2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. water
1/4 tsp. salt (optional)

1. Combine all ingredients in 1 quart glass casserole. Cover tightly.

2. Microwave on high 5 minutes. Stir and continue cooking on high 3 to 4 minutes until carrots are tender-crisp.

3. Let stand, covered, 3 minutes, before serving.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
