CHOCOLATE CHUNK COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter, room temperature
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 pkg. (8 oz. squares) semi-sweet chocolate, cut into 1/2" chunks

Beat butter, sugars, vanilla and egg until light and fluffy. Mix flour, baking soda and salt; stir into butter mixture. Stir in chocolate; drop 2 inches apart by heaping tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes, or until lightly browned. Cool 2 minutes before removing from baking sheet. Makes about 2 dozen cookies.
