FRIED GREEN TOMATOES 
4 lg. green tomatoes (no red or color change must be green or they will be sour)
1 egg
Oil for frying
Salt to taste
1 c. flour
1 c. corn meal (optional)

Combine corn meal and flour (or just flour). Slice tomatoes, then dip in beaten eggs and roll in flour. Fry in oil until brown.
