QUICK APPLE PUDDING 
2 tbsp. shortening
1/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. milk
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped apples

Cream shortening and sugar. Sift dry ingredients together, and add alternately with milk to creamed mixture. Stir in chopped apples. Pour into a 9 inch square pan and pour the sauce over the batter. Bake at 350 degrees until apples are done.

SAUCE:

1 c. brown sugar
1 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. boiling water

Mix these ingredients in the order given.
