APPLE DUMPLINGS | |
2 pie crusts 5 Granny Smith apples 1 c. sugar 1 c. white corn syrup 2 c. water 2 tbsp. butter 1/4 tsp. cinnamon Peel, half and core apples. Wrap each half in pie crust that has been cut into 10 equal triangles. Wrap so all edges of crust will join where core has been removed. Place into a buttered baking dish and let refrigerate for an hour or more. Mix all other ingredients and let boil for about 3-5 minutes. Pour over apples and let bake until golden brown (about 45 minutes at 350 degrees). Baste during baking, at least 3 times. These are even better if served while warm with Cool Whip or vanilla ice cream on top. |
