NEXT RECIPE:  HOLIDAY PUNCH

HOLIDAY PUNCH
1 quart cranberry juice
1 c. sugar
2 c. orange juice
1 c. pineapple juice
3/4 cup lemon juice, freshly squeezed
2 c. chilled ginger ale
1 pint rainbow sherbet

In a large drink container, blend cranberry juice, sugar, and other fruit juices. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

At serving time, stir in the rainbow sherbet and ginger ale.

Variation: If your crowd is over 21, you can stir in 1 c. vodka or gin for the cocktail hour. Add sugar to taste.

You can make ice cubes in advance out of any fruit juice thinned with water (3 parts fruit juice to one part water) which you have on hand.

This recipe is screaming for some vodka, rum and tequilla! That would make it a happy holiday punch!

Great recipe! I found that alcohol was not needed. I served this at my office Holiday party.

We bought a vintage cut glass punch bowl and wanted to show it off at our party. My husband chose this recipe...I was against it...rave reviews from our six guests..we never left the punch bowl until it was empty..we mixed it in a pot and packed it in ice for four hours until serving..we feel this really made a difference..also I made 2 trays of pineapple/water ice cubes. We put in 4 large scoops of sherbet which melted to a beautiful floating foam. The punch bowl and punch was a hit. We will be making this for Thanks Giving. PS. Use real cranberry juice, not cocktail...it was perfect!!!.
