PORK AND BEAN SOUP 
2 c. (16 oz.) pork and beans in tomato sauce
4 c. water
1 c. (16 oz.) whole tomatoes or stewed tomatoes
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. chopped celery
1/2 tsp. chili powder (or to taste)
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. sliced smoked sausage

In a large saucepan, combine pork and beans, water, tomatoes, onion, celery, chili powder and salt. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer partially covered for 30 minutes.

Transfer part of soup to blender or food processor and blend until smooth. (Can blend all of soup if you want a smooth soup.) Return to saucepan. Add sausage and continue simmering 15 minutes or until sausage is heated through. Makes 8 cups.
