POTATO HAMBURGER PIE 
12 sm. onions
8 sm. carrots
3/4 lb. ground beef
Seasonings
3 tbsp. fat
3 tbsp. flour
2 c. mashed potatoes

Cook onions and carrots. Drain and set aside. Season beef and form into 8 meatballs. Brown in fat and place in casserole. Make gravy by adding flour to drippings, brown and add 1 1/2 cups liquid left from cooking vegetables or beef stock. Stir until thickened. To meatballs, add gravy, onions, and carrots. Cover with mashed potatoes. Brush with milk. Bake at 350 degrees until brown, about 20 minutes.
