BAKED FRENCH ONION SOUP | |
Preheat oven to 400°F 1 tbsp. butter 3 lg onions, sliced 1 pkg Lipton onion soup mix 1/2 tsp sugar 1 tbsp flour 2 cans of Swanson Beef Broth 1 can water salt and pepper, to taste 4 slices French Bread or white bread; toast until brown, then cube Mozzarella and Swiss; slices and Parmesan cheese In large saucepan melt butter, add onion slices and cook slowly for 10 to 15 minutes. Add sugar and flour; stir until mixed. Stir in beef broth and Lipton soup mix; simmer for 25 minutes after bringing to a boil. In ovenproof bowls, put soup in about 3/4 full. Add cubes of bread evenly. Add cheese slices to top and bake until cheese is melted. Salt and Pepper to taste. Submitted by: Scott Zimmermann |
