ICED ORANGE COOKIES 
1/2 cup shortening (butter, oil, Crisco, etc.)
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup orange juice
1 tbsp. grated orange peel
2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1-1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

In a mixing bowl, cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in orange juice and peel. Combine flour, baking powder and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture. Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls 2-inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets.

Bake at 350°F for 10-12 minutes or until edges begin to brown. Remove to wire racks to cool.

ICING:

2 cups confectioners’ sugar
1/4 cup orange juice
2 tablespoons butter (no substitutes), melted

In a small bowl, combine icing ingredients until smooth; drizzle over cooled cookies.

Makes about 5-1/2 dozen.
