ANGEL FLAKE BISCUITS | |
2 pkgs. dry yeast 1/4 c. sugar 1 tsp. baking soda 2 c. buttermilk 5 c. self-rising flour 1/2 c. warm water 1 c. shortening Dissolve yeast in warm water with 1 teaspoon sugar. Sift together flour, soda, sugar; cut in shortening. Mix buttermilk and dissolved yeast mixture in large mixing bowl and add dry ingredients. Mix together thoroughly and place in covered bowl in refrigerator. Dough will keep 5 days. Roll out dough and cut. Brush with melted butter and let rise 20-30 minutes. Bake at 425 degrees for 12-15 minutes. |
