FUDGE
Microwave candy making requires no special skill, nor constant watching and stirring. Old-fashioned favorites are almost as easy to microwave as the popular short-cut versions. When you're in a hurry, a dessert sauce can be microwaved while the family is eating dinner. Make small batches of jam or jelly at any season of the year, using fresh or frozen fruit or bottle juices. Your kitchen will stay cool and clean-up is easy.

3 c. semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
1/4 c. butter
1 c. chopped walnuts

1. Place all ingredients except nuts in large bowl.

2. Microwave at Medium (50%) until chocolate chips are melted, 3 to 5 minutes, stirring once or twice during cooking. Stir in nuts. Pour into well greased square baking dish, 8 x 8 inches. Refrigerate until set. Makes about 2 pounds.

Variation: Substitute 1 cup peanut butter chips for 1 cup of the chocolate chips.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
