BROCCOLI WITH BEEF 
1 lb. beef, cut into 1 inch pieces
1/2 lb. broccoli, cut in 1 1/2 inch pieces
1 tsp. freshly ground garlic
1 tbsp. sherry
2 tbsp. soy sauce
Chili peppers to taste (optional)
1 tbsp. cornstarch mixed with water
Cooking oil

In a frying pan, add 3 cups oil. When the oil is hot, fry the broccoli for 2 minutes. Add the beef and fry until the color changes to white. Remove with a strainer and set aside.

Remove oil. Add 1 tablespoon oil to the pan and add garlic, beef, broccoli, sherry, and soy sauce. Cook 2 to 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Just before serving, stir in the cornstarch mixture. Serve with rice.
