OREO AND JELLO DESSERT 
2 (3 oz. each) pkgs. Jello lime flavor
2 c. boiling water
2 c. cold water
1/4 tsp. peppermint extract (optional)
1 env. Dream Whip topping mix or 1 (4 1/2 oz.) container Cool Whip
8 Oreo cookies, finely crushed

Dissolve Jello in boiling water, add cold water and extract. Chill until slightly thickened. Prepare whipped topping mix as directed on package. Measure 1 3/4 cups Jello, pour into a 9 x 5 inch loaf pan and chill about 5 minutes.

Blend prepared whipped topping into the remaining Jello. Use wire whip. Carefully spoon 1/3 of the creamy mixture into the pan. Sprinkle with half of the cookie crumbs. Repeat those two layers and spoon the remaining creamy mixture on top. Chill until firm, about 4 hours. Unmold upside down carefully onto large plate.
