ORIENTAL GREEN BEANS | |
1/4 c. water 1 tsp. cornstarch 2 tbsp. soy sauce 2 tsp. distilled white vinegar 1 1/2 tsp. black bean sauce 1 tsp. Oriental sesame oil 1 tsp. grated, pared fresh ginger 1 clove garlic, chopped 1 lb. green beans, trimmed & cut in half 1/2 sweet red or yellow pepper, thinly sliced Combine water and cornstarch in 2-quart microwave casserole. Add soy, vinegar, bean sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic and red pepper seasoning. Microwave at 100% power 3 minutes, stirring after 1 1/2 minutes. Add beans and pepper. Cover with microwave-safe plastic wrap, vent at one corner. Microwave at 100% power 12 minutes or until beans are crisp-tender; stir after 6 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes. |
