ORIENTAL BEEF STRIPS 
2 lb. round steak, 3/4 inch thick, cut into 1/4 x 1 1/2 inch strips
Butter
1 1/2 c. water
3 tbsp. soy sauce
1 garlic clove, minced
3 c. sliced carrots
1 or 2 green peppers, sliced
1 1/2 c. sliced celery
1/2 lb. mushrooms, cut in half
1 pkg. pea pods, thawed
Salt and pepper
1/4 c. cold water
2 1/2 tbsp. cornstarch

Brown meat in butter. Remove. Add water, soy sauce, and garlic. Simmer. Add meat. Simmer 45 minutes. Steam vegetables until crisp tender. Mix cornstarch and water. Add to meat and sauce. Cook and stir 1 minute. Add vegetables. Serve with rice. Parmesan cheese (optional).
