CARIBBEAN RICE AND BEANS 
Saute onion and celery in butter, add 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon curry powder and 1 teaspoon herbs (such as Italian seasoning) and black pepper to taste.

Stir in 1 cup of Uncle Ben regular rice (not minute.) Stir until slightly browned. Add 2 1/2 cups water, 1 can of beans (drained) such as pinto, kidney, field peas or black eyed peas and 3 cubes of bouillon (beef or chicken). Bring to boil reduce heat to simmer stir and cover.

Cook 20 minutes or until liquid is absorbed, stirring once after 15 minutes. Let stand covered for 5 to 10 minutes. Diced carrots can be added for color.
