KOSHER DILL PICKLES 
20-25 (4") cucumbers
Fresh dill
Garlic
Hot red peppers
Alum
Grape leaves
1 c. coarse pickling salt
1 qt. cider vinegar

Wash cucumbers, let stand in cold water overnight. Pack in hot sterilized jars with fresh dill, 1 garlic clove, 1 small red hot pepper, 1/8 teaspoon alum, 1 grape leaf. Combine 1 cup salt, 3 quarts water and 1 quart vinegar. Heat to boiling and fill jars and seal. Let stand about 6 months for best results.
