1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. peanut butter
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. plus 1 tbsp. flour
1 egg
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 c. peanuts

Cream the first 4 ingredients. Beat in egg and vanilla. Stir together soda and salt. Blend into batter. Stir in nuts. Use 1 teaspoon of batter and form into small balls. Place on greased cookie sheet and flatten with fork.

Bake at 350°F for 10 minutes.

Makes 36 cookies.
