FRUIT COCKTAIL CAKE 
2 eggs, beaten
1 can fruit cocktail including syrup
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. nuts
1/2 c. brown sugar

Mix together all ingredients except nuts and brown sugar. Pour into greased oblong cake pan. Sprinkle nuts and brown sugar before baking. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour.

TOPPING:

1/2 c. milk
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. coconut
1/4 lb. butter

Boil together 3 minutes. Remove from heat; add nuts (1/2 cup) and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Pour on cake while both are still warm.
