ITALIAN SPAGHETTI SAUCE 
1 lb. hamburger meat
3 tbsp. shortening
1/4 c. chopped onion
1 med. can tomatoes
1 lg. can tomato paste
1 1/2 c. water
2 bay leaves
1 tsp. garlic salt
1 tsp. oregano
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. parsley
1 tbsp. sweet basil

Melt shortening. Add onion and meat. Cook until brown. Add tomatoes and tomato paste. Stir in water. Stir well. Add seasoning. Stir until mixed. Cover and simmer for 2 hours. Serve over noodles. Serves 4.
