ITALIAN SPAGHETTI SAUCE 
3 sections fresh garlic
4 tbsp. olive oil
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
1 1/2 lbs. Italian sweet sausage
1 (28 oz.) can tomato puree
1 (12 oz.) can tomato paste
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 tbsp. oregano
1 tsp. basil
1 1/2 c. water
3 bay leaves

In a large aluminum pot, brown garlic and brown sausage. Remove. Brown beef, remove (or make meatballs). Add tomato paste, brown (2 minutes). Add tomato puree and water. Let simmer 5 minutes. Bring to a medium boil, add sausage and meat (or meatballs). Add all other spices, stir well. Let simmer 3 hours, stir occasionally. Remove bay leaves before serving. Serves 6 to 8.
