4-5 c. self-rising flour 1 to 1 1/2 c. milk or water Cooking oil - depends on size of pan, oil should be at least 1 inch deep Depending on how much bread you'll be making, the amount of flour will vary. Heat up the cooking oil, first, the hotter the better. Pour flour in a bowl and add milk, only enough to moisten. (Milk gives it an added flavor.) Make into a big dough ball. Roll out, cut out or pat out with hands. Cook in hot oil turning only once. Takes a matter of seconds and you're ready to eat. Pour on your favorite jelly or honey or butter. |
