BONNIE'S BUTTER CAKE 
2/3 c. softened butter
1 3/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 3/4 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 1/4 c. milk

Mix butter, eggs, sugar, and vanilla until fluffy. Mix in flour, baking powder and salt alternately with milk. Pour into greased and floured 13 x 9 x 2 inch or three 8 x 1 1/2 inch cake pans. Bake 30-35 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool.

FRENCH SILK FROSTING:

2 2/3 c. powdered sugar
2/3 c. soft butter
2 oz. unsweetened melted chocolate, cool
3/4 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. milk

Blend sugar, butter, chocolate, and vanilla top speed. Slowly add milk and beat until smooth.
