CLOSE TO HEAVEN CAKE 
1 box yellow cake mix
3 oz. instant vanilla pudding mix
1 c. sugar
1 c. flaked coconut
20 oz. can crushed pineapple
8 oz. Cool Whip
2 c. chopped pecans

Mix cake and bake in a 9x13 sheet cake pan according to package directions. Meanwhile, simmer pineapple and sugar together. Remove cake from oven when done; poke holes in it with fork. Pour pineapple mix evenly over top; chill.

Mix pudding according to package directions. Spread over top of cake, then top with Cool Whip and sprinkle with nuts.
