CHEESE PASTRY SHELLS 
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
1/3 c. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
4 tbsp. cold water

Sift together flour and salt; cut in shortening and cheese. Add water and mix lightly until dough forms a ball. Roll out to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut in large circles and shape over inverted custard cups to form individual shells. Bake in 425 degree gas oven 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool; remove from custard cups. Serve filled with chicken salad or other filling of your choice.
