BANANA BREAD 
2 c. sugar
3/4 c. butter
2 eggs
3 c. sifted all purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/8 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. vanilla flavoring
1 1/2 c. mashed bananas
1 c. chopped pecans

Cream butter; add sugar. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Sift dry ingredients together; add alternately with buttermilk. Add vanilla and bananas and nuts. Bake in loaf pans (2 big pans or 4 small loaf pans). Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or more. When cake is done, cake will turn loose from side of pans.
