3 c. plain flour, sift twice
3 c. sugar
6 eggs
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
2 1/2 sticks of butter
1/2 tsp. lemon extract
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. whole Carnation milk

In a medium bowl combine the dry ingredients and mix on low speed for 30 seconds to blend. In a large bowl combine the butter and sugar. Beat in each egg one at a time until smooth. Add the lemon and vanilla. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the egg-sugar combination.

Pour into fluted tube pan or loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for about one hour (do not look at cake until one hour has passed). Test cake with a toothpick. Makes a very large cake. You may sprinkle top with powdered sugar.
