SWEET POTATO CAKE 
2 c. flour
1/2 c. Crisco
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. chopped nuts
2 eggs
1 c. mashed sweet potatoes

Cream Crisco and sugar well. Add eggs, one at a time and beat well. Add sweet potatoes and beat well. Sift together dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture, alternating with milk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Add nuts and mix well. Makes 3 layers. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
