APPLESAUCE 
2 lbs. tart cooking apples
1/2 to 2/3 c. sugar (depends on tartness of apples)
1/2 c. water

Wash, core and pare apples. Cut into quarters. Put water in saucepan. Bring to a boil; add apples and bring back to a boil. Reduce heat, simmer 20 to 25 minutes. Stir occasionally. Add water if needed. Stir in sugar until well combined. Serve hot or cold.

Makes 3 cups.
