ITALIAN CREAM CAKE | |
1 stick butter 1/2 c. oil 2 c. sugar 5 eggs, separated 1 c. buttermilk 1 tsp. baking soda 2 c. flour 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. shredded coconut 1/2 c. chopped nuts Cream butter, oil, and sugar. Add yolks one at a time. Stir soda in buttermilk. Add sifted flour into butter mixture. Beat egg whites and fold in. Pour into greased and floured pans. 3 layers. Bake at 325 degrees for 30 minutes. FROSTING FOR CREAM CAKE 1 (18 oz.) cream cheese 1 stick butter 1 tsp. vanilla 1 box powdered sugar 1/2 c. chopped nuts Mix all ingredients well. Spread on cooled cake. |
