GRANDMA'S CHICKEN CURRY 
1 whole chicken
8 to 12 peppercorns
8 to 12 whole cloves
1 garlic clove, peeled and chopped
1 tbsp. curry powder
3 to 4 tbsp. flour or cornstarch
mashed potatoes, rice or noodles

Slow boil all ingredients, except flour and mashed potatoes, until chicken easily comes off the bone. Cool and skim fat off the top. Remove meat from bones. Serve over mashed potatoes, rice or noodles.

Gravy: Reserve 1 c. broth. Add flour to make a thin paste. Set aside. Simmer the remaining broth until you have what you want for gravy. Add paste to broth, stirring until thick.
