PECAN PIE BARS | |
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour 2 tbsp. plus 1/2 c. dark brown sugar, packed, divided 1/2 c. butter plus 2 tbsp. melted butter, divided 2 lg. eggs, beaten 1/2 c. dark corn syrup 1 c. chopped pecans 1 tsp. vanilla 1/4 tsp. salt 1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. 2. In medium bowl, mix together flour and 2 tablespoons brown sugar. With fork or pastry blender cut in 1/2 cup butter until it resembles coarse crumbs. Pat into ungreased, 8 inch square baking dish. 3. Bake 15 minutes. 4. In medium bowl combine remaining ingredients. Pour over baked layer. 5. Bake 20 to 25 minutes. 6. Let cool; cut into 2 x 1 1/2 inch bars. Makes 20 bars. |
