APPLE DUMPLINGS 
2 pkgs. pie crust mix
6 med. baking apples
1 egg, beaten
1 c. caramel sauce
1/4 c. butter
2/3 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. water

Prepare and roll pie crust 1/8 inch thick. Cut out 6 (7 inch) squares (or large enough to encase apples). Put one apple on each square, overlapping edges and pinching together with a little water. Put overlapped side down in pan large enough to hold all apples. Brush with beaten egg.

In saucepan combine caramel sauce, butter, brown sugar and water; bring to a boil, stirring. Pour over apples. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes, spooning sauce over occasionally. Let "rest" for 30 minutes before serving. Serves 6.
