RHUBARB TORTE 
1 1/2 c. flour
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1 egg
2 tsp. milk

Mix like pie crust. Pat into 9 x 13 pan building up the sides.

Cover with 5 cups of cut rhubarb, 1 1/2 cups sugar and 2 tablespoons flour. Beat 4 egg yolks; mix with 1 cup milk. Pour over rhubarb. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.

Cover with meringue and bake until browned.

MERINGUE:

4 egg whites, beaten. Gradually add 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar.
