MILE HIGH MERINGUE 
3 egg whites
1 1/2 tbsp. cold water
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
3 tbsp. sugar

Beat egg whites and 1 1/2 tablespoons cold water until just foamy. Add 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar. Beat until stands in peaks. Add 3 tablespoons sugar, one at a time, beating after each addition. Then when glossy and stands in peaks put over pie and brown at 350 degrees.
