OLD FASHION FUDGE | |
3 c. sugar 1 c. evaporated milk 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tbsp. cocoa (heaping) 1 tsp. vanilla extract 3 tbsp. butter Mix sugar, salt, cocoa, milk in saucepan. Stir occasionally over medium high heat and bring to a boil. Stir until it reaches 225 degrees on candy thermometer. (When dropped in glass of cold water, candy should form firm ball.) Remove from heat and place pan in cold water. Add butter and vanilla. Wait until temp goes down to 175 degrees. Stir vigorously until fudge loses its gloss. Immediately pour onto greased plate. Set for 1 hour and cut into squares. Melts in your mouth! |
