DATE BARS 
1 1/2 c. chopped dates
1 c. broken nuts
2 lg. eggs
3/4 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. soft butter
1/2 c. sifted all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt

Chop nuts. Beat eggs, add sugar and vanilla and butter. Add flour, baking powder and salt. Stir well; add dates and nuts. Pour into well greased and floured 9" square pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool, cut into squares or bars with a sharp knife. Roll in powdered sugar. Store in tight container.
