FAVORITE POPCORN BALLS 
1 1/2 c. sugar
2/3 c. table syrup (molasses)
2/3 c. water
3 tbsp. butter
2 tsp. vanilla
About 4 qt. popcorn (popped), well salted

Put sugar, syrup, and water over fire. Stir until sugar is melted; boil until brittle in cold water. Add butter when nearly done. Remove from fire and add vanilla. Pour onto the popcorn mixing the two together. With buttered hands lightly roll the mixture into small balls, pressing the mixture together only just enough to hold it in shape.

TIP: Discard all the hard kernels of unpopped corn. Have the corn warm and in a warm bowl.
