BRIDGET'S HOLIDAY IRISH SODA BREAD | |
1 c. white raisins 3 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 1/4 c. sugar 2 eggs 1 1/2 c. buttermilk 3 tbsp. melted butter Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly moisten raisins. Sift dry ingredients together in a mixing bowl and add eggs, stirring with a wooden spoon. Slowly stir in buttermilk and add melted butter. Stir in raisins. Because dough is soft, it bakes in a greased 9"x4"x3" pan. Bake for 1 hour or until toothpick inserted in center of loaf comes out clean. |
