ONION CHEESE BREAD 
1/2 onion, chopped
3 tbsp. butter, divided
1 egg, beaten
1/2 c. milk
1 1/2 c. Bisquick
1 c. sharp cheddar, shredded
1 tbsp. poppy seed

Cook onion in 1 tablespoon butter until transparent. Combine egg and milk and add to biscuit mix; stir just until moistened. Add cooked onion and half of the shredded cheese. Spread dough in a greased 8" square pan. Sprinkle top with remaining cheese and poppy seed. Drizzle 2 tablespoons butter all over. Bake in 400 degree oven for 20 to 25 minutes. Cut into squares. Serve while hot. Makes 12.
