PECAN CRISPIES 
1/2 c. shortening
2 1/2 c. brown sugar
2 2/3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. butter
2 well-beaten eggs
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped pecans

Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs and beat well. Add sifted dry ingredients, then nuts. Roll into a ball like walnuts. Press out a little in hand, dip in sugar, place a pecan meat on top and place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees F.
