1/3 c. Crisco
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 c. plain flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. pecans, chopped

Blend together Crisco, sugar, salt and vanilla. Stir in beaten egg. Add flour, sifted with soda, then chopped pecans. Roll in balls walnut size. Place on cookie sheet lightly greased. Top with pecan halves. Bake at 375 degrees 8 to 10 minutes. Makes 3 dozen.
