SOUR CREAM COFFEE CAKE 
1/2 lb. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 pt. (16 oz.) sour cream
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda

TOPPING:

1 c. ground nuts
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, sour cream, vanilla and baking soda. Mix gently by hand until blended together. Add flour and baking powder a little at a time, hand mixing as you go (batter will be thick).

Grease pan and flour. Spread 1/2 batter, add 1/2 of the topping and swirl it into batter with spatula. Add remainder of batter, add remainder of topping, swirling it into the batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
