BRISKET IN BEER 
3-4 lb. fresh beef brisket
1 clove garlic
1 onion, sliced
2 tbsp. brown sugar
1 (12 oz.) can beer
1/4 c. chili sauce

Trim excess fat from brisket. Season with salt and pepper. Place in a 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking dish - cover with sliced onion. In bowl combine chili sauce, brown sugar, garlic and beer. Pour over meat. Cover pan tightly with foil. Bake at 350 degrees for 3 1/2 hours. Uncover and bake for 30 minutes more at 300 degrees. Baste occasionally. Add water if gravy has cooked down.
