BUTTER HORNS 
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. milk
1 tsp. salt
1 pkg. yeast
1 tbsp. sugar
1/4 c. warm water
2 eggs, well beaten
4 c. flour

Combine first four ingredients. Heat to scald and cool to lukewarm. Combine next three ingredients: Yeast, 1 tablespoon sugar, and warm water. Add to first mixture when lukewarm. Add eggs, then flour. Mix well with spoon. Let rise until light. Toss out on well-floured board and divide into three portions. Roll portion as pie crust, about 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into wedge-shaped pieces, 12 per portion. Roll each wedge, starting at wide end. Place on greased tins, then let rise until light. Bake at 375 degrees about 12-15 minutes. These are delicious.
