BUTTER HORNS | |
1/2 c. sugar 2 eggs 4 1/2 c. flour 3/4 c. butter 1 c. warm milk 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. grated lemon rind 1 pkg. dry yeast dissolved in 1/4 c. warm water Sift dry ingredients and add butter. Mix like pie crust. Add beaten eggs, warm milk and yeast mixture. Beat well but do not knead. Place in refrigerator overnight. Next morning, divide dough into 3 equal parts. Roll out each part and cut into 12 pie shaped pieces. Brush each piece with butter and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Roll up, shape like horn. Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Frost with powdered sugar frosting. |
