LIME PICKLES 
Use a 5 gallon crock. 7 pounds pickles, cut in 1/2 inch slices. Dissolve 2 cups lime in 2 gallon water. Pour over pickles. Let stand 24 hours. Take pickles out and wash thoroughly. Let stand in cold water for 3 hours. Drain (pickles should be firm).

Combine: 4 1/2 c. sugar 2 tbsp. salt 2 tsp. celery seed 1 tbsp. mixed spices & cloves Green food coloring

Pour over pickles and let stand overnight. Put on stove and simmer for 30 minutes. Put in sterilized jars and seal.
