APPLE PIE 
Pastry for 9" two crust pie
3/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. apple pie spice
Dash salt
6 c. thinly sliced tart apples
2 tbsp. butter
1/4 c. shredded cheddar cheese

Heat oven to 425 degrees. Prepare pastry and line pie pan with bottom crust. Stir sugar, flour, spice and salt together; mix lightly with apples. Turn into pastry lined pan. Dot with butter, weave lattice top crust; seal and flute edge. Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until filling bubbles. Remove from oven; sprinkle with cheese. Return to oven for 3 minutes or until cheese is melted. Serve slightly warm. 6 servings.
